Vivien was born in Germany, moved to Washington state, where she developed a passion for the ocean at a young age and has been pursuing marine conservation since.
Before joining Ako’ako’a, she worked on coral reef restoration and research projects in Indonesia, the Caribbean, and now Hawaiʻi, conducting coral propagation and outplanting, benthic and fish surveys, and long-term reef monitoring and Photogrammetry.
She is also very passionate about using conservation as an educational tool.
When Vivien is not out diving for work or fun you can find her and her dog at the beach, or trying new cuisines, or rewatching animal planet documentaries
