Phillip Noel

Phillip Noel graduated from ASU with a bachelor’s degree in computational mathematical sciences. His interest in using computers for science began in 2015 when his school received a grant for students to construct a weather balloon capsule that would carry an onboard experiment and record atmospheric telemetry. Many of the design principles and efficiency gains implemented in the low-power, embedded computer on the capsule can be extrapolated to large-scale problems where implementation can save resources and yield more accurate results. Phillip’s academic interest thus shifted focus to optimizing models and simulations to study the natural sciences.

Phillip is now a data specialist for the Global Airborne Observatory.
