Jie Dai is a postdoctoral research scholar in the Asner Lab at Arizona State University’s Center for Global Discovery and Conservation Science. He is a broadly trained geographer with research interests in biodiversity conservation, coupled human and natural systems, and sustainability. He earned his Ph.D. from the Joint Program in Geography between the University of California, Santa Barbara, and San Diego State University. He obtained an M.S. in Natural Resources and Environment from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. At GDCS, he will work on airborne and satellite-based imaging spectroscopy as well as its biospheric applications in terrestrial and coastal ecosystems.
